Why not bring your bike with you to Newton Grange and enjoy cycling on country lanes and bridleways in the Yorkshire Dales?  The Leeds Liverpool Canal is accessible from the doorstep, and there are many and varied cycling routes throughout the Dales.

There are so many options for fabulous cycling in the Yorkshire Dales, here are some of our personal favourites that are easily accessible from Newton Grange. 

The Pennine Cycleway

Newton Grange is located on Route 68 of the Pennine Cycleway, part of the National Cycle Network, and a 124 mile route between Holmfirth and Appleby taking in the South Pennines and the Dales.  The route is described below:

“A wide variety of landscapes, including a huge canal embankment, splendid examples of textile mills, delightful market towns, pastoral farmland and high open moorland Traffic free sections include the green corridor of the Leeds and Liverpool Canal towpath, and bridle tracks near Clapham.”

The Settle Circular (38 miles)

We particularly like some of the Day Rides featured on the Cycle the Dales website, including the 38 mile Settle Circular. The route is described as:

“A classic circuit around the limestone country crossing dramatically-shaped valleys and passing through the best-known villages in the southern Dales.”

The Gargrave to Kettlewell Cycle Route (49 miles)

We really like the Gargrave to Kettlewell Cycle Route, which passes through Bank Newton just half a mile away from Newton Grange. The route is described as:

“An excellent, moderate, road route, on a mix of A and B roads and country lanes, that rises and falls across the scenic Yorkshire Dales.”
