Colour in all seasons at Harlow Carr Gardens

Are you thinking ahead about where to visit during your stay here in North Yorkshire?

Harlow Carr Gardens in Harrogate is a super place and something with broad appeal across the generations.

On a recent visit this September, we enjoyed admiring the sculpture displays that have been added this year.

There are lots of places for young children to enjoy running around and games of hide and seek. There are climbing frames and balance beams in the woodlands in a few different places in the gardens to keep young ones occupied too.

The children may love to discover the sculptures themselves too.

Before you visit, here are a few practical things that it might be helpful to know.

  • Reach the gardens in a journey time of approximately 45-50 minutes by car from Newton Grange Cottages.  The postcode for the gardens is HG3 1QB.
  • Visitor information is available on the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) website, including opening times and ticket prices. If you're already a RHS member, then you'll benefit from gaining access to the gardens free of charge.
  • There are footpaths from Harlow Carr that join up with the Valley Gardens in Harrogate, to make an enjoyable walk to see this attractive area of open space too.
