Today is 'Tell a Story Day'. Here is a little about me and my story of what I love about living and working at Newton Grange.
Together with my parents Catherine and John, and with the fantastic support of my husband and family, I feel so fortunate to look after Newton Grange Farm and to welcome guests to stay here from all over the world.
I am deeply rooted in Yorkshire and grew up on a dairy farm a few miles away from Newton Grange.
It was fantastic to return to the area a few years ago after I got married. We had the most fantastic wedding day with a vibrant service in Carleton Church and a marquee wedding reception here on the farm.
Continuing more than a decade of hard work and investment put in to the farm by my parents is a real privilege. I am proud of the vibrant and beautiful place that Newton Grange Farm has become. I feel lucky to raise my family here and enjoy being able to take a walk or cycle from the doorstep. Bank Newton is a haven from city life and breathtakingly beautiful in springtime.
Walking is one of my greatest passions. I love nothing better than striding out on a good walk in the Yorkshire Dales, where my love of walking began. This year I am aiming to put together a collection of walks that you can enjoy from Bank Newton and beyond. Look out for ‘Rachael’s Rambles’ coming soon.
