Where to visit in the Yorkshire Dales

Having returned from the inspirational Y13 conference this morning, we are reminded of the variety and abundance of things to see and do in Yorkshire.  We heard about the fantastic journey so far of the team working behind the scenes on the 2014 Grand Depart of the Tour de France, a world class event on our doorstep.  We're looking forward to it with great anticipation.

Yorkshire is a brilliant place to see sculpture, from the Henry Moore Institute in Leeds city centre to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park and the Hepworth Museum in Wakefield.  It is a place to delight in a richness of food and drink across the county - to taste and sample something new.  We enjoyed meeting Jacksons breadmakers, producing a premium bread from wheat grown and milled in Yorkshire, and chatted to The Food Academy, based above Flannels in Leeds city centre and serving a range of sharing platters, afternoon teas and more to visitors to the city throughout the day.

It was a privilege to see some of Yorkshire's Olympic Champions at Y13 and to hear their stories of training in Yorkshire.  And it won't be long until the Rugby League World Cup comes to England and Wales in the autumn.  A number of Yorkshire stadiums will be the hosts, with the quarter finals taking place at Headingley Carnegie Stadium in Leeds on 15th November.

There is so much to see and do across the county, whatever your interests.  Some of our personal favourites can be found in the Explore section of our website.  Yorkshire.com is a fantastic resource to keep up to date.  We also recommend the visitor guide by Stay in Yorkshire Dales - signposting to activities far and wide, from fishing to team building, water sports to bird watching and event guides, area guides, shopping, attractions and food and drink.

We'd be delighted to help wherever we can to help you get the most out of your visit to Yorkshire.  We love hearing about what our guests have enjoyed and find that there's always something new.
